Description : Creation Of earth
According to Gondi Folklore the Earth never existed, there was only water. The lord wanted to create earth and so he sent the crow to look for signs of mud from which he could create the earth. The crow flew for miles and miles, suddenly he spotted a twig floating in the water. On a closer look, he realized it was the leg of a crab. He soared lower and jumped on the back of crab. He was aghast to see that the crab was just about to devour an earthworm that had a ball of mud in his mouth. He then asked the crab to spare the earthworm and took the ball of mud and gave it to the Lord. The Lord tried to creating the earth, but the immense amount of water would just wash away the mud and all his efforts were futile. He then created the spider on whose web he made the Earth.
