Indian tribal Painting

Galerie Anders hus - our gallery in the Marais, Paris/France, run by Anne Chevalier and Anders Laustsen - is specialized in Scandinavian and Indian art.

We show Danish and Swedish stoneware (or art pottery)
(
Gunnar Nylund, Carl Harry Stålhane, Arne Bang, Saxbo and Svend Hammershøi) and lamps (Poul Henningsen, Louise Campell, Arne Jacobsen, Verner Panton and Ebb&Flow) from the most well known ceramists and lighting designers in Denmark and Sweden, as well as Scandinavian painters and the COBRA heritage of the drawings by Claus Bojesen.

Our second speciality is vernacular (Aboriginal in Australia) tribal and rural painting from India. Vernacular painting is contemporary art, but based on the collective memory of a defined group. Look at our booklet: Vernacular India.

We have one of Europe's greatest selections of paintings from the following tribes: Gond (Jangarh Singh Shyam), Bhil (Ladoo Bai), Hill Korwa (automatic writing and drawing), Warli, Meena, Baiga and Rathwa Pithora. Now click on
« Art tribal indien » and take a look on the artworks.
